The Faded Apartment
The spore colonies on the northern wall had finally breached the plaster. I watched them expand, a slow, gray tide that consumed the light. It was a Tuesday, or perhaps a Wednesday; the distinction had lost its grip on me weeks ago. The apartment, a high-ceilinged box in the old quarter, was sealed tight.
