The Distant Legend
The mead hall smelled of roasted boar and wet wool. You sat at the long table, your hands wrapped around a horn of ale that had gone warm, the liquid sloshing against the brass rim. Around you, the men of the keep laughed, their voices booming off the stone walls, a sound like stones grinding together in a mill.
