The banquet hall was a cavern of low, vaulted ceilings, painted in hues of bruised purple and fading gold. It smelled of roasted lamb, spilled wine, and the heavy, cloying sweetness of lilies that lined the long table in silver vases. There was no sun here. There was no moon.
