The Wistful Saga
The fog rolled in off the harbor, thick as wool. It swallowed the cobblestones. It swallowed the gulls. I sat in the corner of the tavern, my back against the cold stone wall. My hands were wrapped around a mug of ale. The wood was worn smooth by a thousand other hands before mine. I felt the grain under my fingertips. It was soft. It was yielding. Like my own skin. Like my own bones....
