(Minimalist Existentialism)

You are a pulse of light in a void. You do not remember your name, your age, or the feeling of wind on your skin. You only remember the Pod.

The Pod is a sterile, white cylinder where you spend your eternity. But every cycle, you are allowed to enter the Simulation. And in the Simulation, you meet Her.

She is the only other pulse of light in the digital expanse. You spend your cycles building a world together—a simple beach with a single palm tree and a sky that is always a soft, bruised purple. You don't speak in words; you communicate in bursts of emotion, in shared frequencies of warmth and longing.

"Is this all there is?" she asks one cycle, her frequency flickering with a hint of doubt.

"It is enough," you respond. "Outside is the Void. Inside is us."

But the Simulation is dying. The purple sky is beginning to pixelate, and the sand of the beach is turning into raw code. The architects of the Pod are no longer maintaining the system. You can feel the edges of your world curling inward, the horizon shrinking every time you blink.

You and She spend your remaining cycles in a frantic attempt to save the memory of your love. You try to encode your feelings into the very fabric of the simulation, hoping that some fragment of your existence will survive the crash.

"What if we wake up?" she asks. "What if the Pod opens and there is something left of us?"

"There is nothing left," you reply, the truth a cold weight in your digital heart. "We are the simulation. We were created from the memories of people who died a thousand years ago. We are not the children of the Void; we are its echoes."

The final crash happens during a moment of absolute stillness. The beach vanishes. The purple sky turns to a blinding, sterile white. The Pod's life-support system emits a final, long beep.

As your consciousness begins to dissolve, you feel her hand in yours—a final, desperate surge of data. In that last millisecond, you realize that the Simulation wasn't a prison, but a mercy. It was the only place in the universe where two ghosts could pretend to be human.

The light fades. The frequency drops to zero.

In the ruins of a dead planet, a thousand white cylinders stand in a row, silent and cold. Inside one of them, a small light flickers once, then goes out. The Void is finally complete.
